NANOG 2024 CONFERENCE
NANOG hosts tri-annual meetings that draw up to 1,500 individuals in multiple facets of network engineering, operations, and architecture, who gather in major cities across North America.
The talk by Adrian Perrig, SCION inventor, highlighted SCION’s use cases, technical and business aspects, including security features like geo-fencing and path validation, and new business models for ISPs. It covered SCION’s interoperability, fault-independence from BGP-based infrastructure, and co-existence with current systems. The session also emphasized the role of open source, community involvement, IXPs, and the SCION Association in its success.
